VERSACE AUTUM/WINTER 2014| MILAN FASHION WEEK

With a late 70’s early 80’s rebel feel, the show begins with the famous silk baroque Versace print with a western cowboy twist. Deep jewel tones and dark neutrals filled the runway with endless amounts of various textures, with the most notable being a slick sheen, whether being in the full red leather cowboy outfit or the silk shirts and accessories. This very cheeky collection definitely had a huge nod to gay culture, including coded handkerchiefs, jeweled crotches, leather chaps and over embellishments. “It was an expression of freedom. I think it’s really important today with what’s going on in the world with civil rights and love.” – Donatella…

The Real Life Models by Flora Borsi

See artist Flora Borsi explore the curiosity behind paintings. Kind of eerie but very interesting.   “Nowadays almost every photographer use graphics software to complete the picture, like many painters used ‘original version’ in the past. Some artists use pure imagination to paint their artworks, others may prefer to create art by using a real life model as reference for the anatomy. What if these abstract models were real people?” – Flora Borsi   source:   Related articles Fascinating Photos of the Models Who Inspired Famous Artworks Hiding in Plain Sight. Flora Borsi

Author: Robert Kane If you asked most people to think of a “marijuana religion”, they instantly think of Rastafarians and nothing more. But while many religions are as condemnatory of cannabis as they are of any other intoxicant, there is a recorded history of religions using marijuana seeds and leaves that stretches back for thousands of years. Almost every major world religion, it seems, has made use of the drug, usually for spiritual purposes – look at the list below! Taoism Ancient Chinese Taoists were at first sceptical about the use of cannabis; their religion regarded it as “the liberator of sin” for some time. However, while they continued to…
