Stain-glass cathedral inspired you tend to see a soft but structured lines.  With each peice having a certain reverence. The colors weren’t off the wall crazy but were mainly kept for select patterns and some graphic depictions of stain-glass. The menswear aspect in this collection stood out as well. With a few mesh pieces and full body textiles. Simple styling to go along with the gaudy/simplistic battle this collection was presenting. source:

Normcore at its peak.  I’m down for the Normcore train, someone sign me up. This collection fell in-between the ugly cool category. Which Turned out pretty cool. Because if you think it’s ugly… ” uhm you just don’t get it.” Specific highlights in this Michael Sontag collection are the full length dresses (especially the blue dress)  and white flip flops. source:

    ART

The Times by artist Fred Tomaselli

I’m under the assumption we’ve all at one point sat there bored with a newspaper at hand and started drawing mustaches on people. I for one would switch peoples genders. My school teachers loved that. That being said artist Fred Tomaselli takes it to a different level and creates colorful art form front pages of the New York Times. They now become beautiful unique designs giving and everyday paper something creative and special. “In this brilliant time capsule of recent world events, celebrated artist Fred Tomaselli intrepidly and colorfully reimagines the front pages of the New York Times.” source:

Lena Hoschek S/S 2015 Berlin Fashion Week

Graphic and diverse pin ups. Strong textiles with vintage shapes and a heavy emphasis on accessories including, sunglasses, head  wraps and big hoop earrings. This show followed the motto “More is more” but it still ended up looking fine. Reminiscent of the recent Giamattista Valli Haute Couture show in Paris they both had a vintage throwback feel. With the Lena Hoschek show being a bit more severe in styling, color and shapes. source:

A visually soft but subtle strong collection, romantic and sexual but in an extremely feminine way. Never harsh. It’s like looking at those beautiful flowers then realizing they look like vaginas. Pinks, whites and creams, silk  like fabrics mixed with lace. A lot of skin. handful of cut outs displaying skin in a more gentle manner. source:
