Shocked and excited when we heard the news the beloved Scary Stories to tell in the dark books were going to be interpreted into a movie. A series of creepy books we all hold dear to our hearts.
A writer for the books interpretation has been selected. His name is John August and you may know his other works which include films like Go, Big Fish and Frankinweenie.
It’s been rumored that the previous writers were already set on the story to “adapt some of the Scary short stories into a screenplay about a group of outcast kids who stand up to their fears to save their town when nightmares come to life.” apparently this idea has (thankfully) been scraped and a fresh start has begun with the new writer John August.
A good match. Now we are just waiting for a director to be selected.
(the HAROLD short story always freaked me out the most.)
