    Art by Matthew Swarts

I use computers and printers to explore some of the questions I have about the things I make with cameras. I believe in photography’s ability to touch truth, but less so in our placing of importance on it having some kind of indexical relationship to what’s “real.” photographies de portraits complètement déformées par l'artiste Matthew Swarts créant une série déssellée obsédante ressemblant presque à des illusions d'optique avec ses motifs complexes et répétitifs. Art by Dorris Vooijs

L'artiste basé à Groningen, Dorris Vooijs, crée des images fantomatiques et élégantes à l'aide d'éléments multimédias et de portraits. “Through the years i have been collecting vintage pictures that triggered scenes from my past as a child growing up. Often they become the basis for new work. With digital sketches, markers, spray paint, embroidery and ink I try to convert those old images into something that is part of my life today and current state of mind.” See some selected works below:

    Paintings by Helene Delmaire

Warped portrait paintings with glitch like detailing by artist Helene Delmaire. “My work addresses the notions of fragility, femininity, of man’s relationship to nature and what is mirrored of him through her. I am primarily interested in what happens within us, things that cannot be put into words but might be brushed upon through senses and intuitions.”

In the Clouds by artist Yang Cao

Artist Yang Cao mixes portraits with clouds. The variety includes from stormy to sunset pink. The people featured in the portraits match their clouds, and like people they are something ever-changing and unpredictable. “I like the unpredictability of the cloud. It’s shapeless and changes all the time, it follows the wind and never stays in one form and place. Somehow I find this as a resemblance to our human nature and mind.” -Yang Cao
