Uniqlo UT x Picasso: Wearable Art for a Worthy Cause

Uniqlo UT is bringing Pablo Picasso’s iconic artistry to life in a meaningful way. The brand’s upcoming collection, launching in early March, celebrates the legendary painter’s work as part of the ongoing PEACE FOR ALL initiative. Since its inception in June 2022, this campaign has raised over $2 million for humanitarian efforts worldwide.

The collection features five thoughtfully designed T-shirts, each spotlighting a significant piece from Picasso’s body of work. Leading the release is a tee featuring The Flowers of Peace (1958), a lithograph originally created for a peace demonstration in Stockholm. The artwork spans the full front of the shirt, symbolizing the charitable spirit of the campaign. Importantly, proceeds from this design will go directly to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Other T-shirts in the capsule reinterpret Picasso’s distinct styles and periods. For example, Portrait de Marie-Thérèse Walter (1937) features a large-scale print of the artwork across the back, with subtle details on the front chest. The classic Dove of Peace (1945), which has become synonymous with Picasso’s commitment to harmony, is also featured. Rounding out the collection is Femme au chapeau (1935), showcasing Picasso’s vibrant and unconventional approach to portraiture.

“Art has the power to transcend boundaries and connect people,” said Uniqlo’s global creative director, Koji Yanai. “With this collection, we aim to make Picasso’s legacy accessible while contributing to a cause that aligns with his message of peace.”

The PEACE FOR ALL initiative has grown steadily since its launch, inviting collaborations with artists, designers, and creatives from across the globe. Its mission is simple yet impactful: to leverage the universal language of art and fashion to support charitable organizations. The Picasso collection is a natural evolution of this effort—blending cultural heritage with modern, wearable design to support those in need.
