Sarah Burton Debuts Givenchy Menswear in a Campaign Starring Paul Simonon and Rooney Mara

Sarah Burton reveals her first vision for Givenchy menswear with a striking new campaign that brings together two magnetic figures. The Clash bassist Paul Simonon and actor Rooney Mara take center stage in the Spring 2026 portraits. Both are photographed by Collier Schorr, whose instinct for realism and tension gives the campaign its distinctive edge.

The release marks the first look at Burton’s menswear for Givenchy. Her widely praised womenswear debut arrived only months earlier in March, and this new work builds on the clarity and craft she has already brought to the house. Simonon and Mara appear in tailored black looks that speak to the discipline and confidence of the collection. Simonon wears a sharp suit paired with a high-collar men’s shirt, while Mara appears in a modern white blouse and in another image a refined black lace sheath. In one of the most memorable frames, Simonon holds a black Dobermann puppy, a detail that adds humor and quiet rebellion to the composition.

“My friends are often my muses, and my muses often become friends,” said Burton. “The second in our Portrait Series celebrates this creative relationship with both Rooney Mara and Paul Simonon.”

The campaign forms part of Burton’s ongoing Portrait Series, styled by Camilla Nickerson. Schorr has previously photographed an impressive lineup for the project. Past subjects include Adut Akech, Vittoria Ceretti, Nyaduola Gabriel, Kaia Gerber, Eva Herzigova, Emeline Hoareau, and Liu Wen. Each chapter adds new depth to the relationship between the house and the personalities it chooses to spotlight.

Burton’s tenure at Givenchy began in 2024 after over a decade leading design at Alexander McQueen. She presented her first collection for the French house inside the historic salon at 3 Avenue George V. The show nodded to Hubert de Givenchy’s heritage with looks such as a black fishnet top printed with the words Givenchy 1952, a reference to the founding year. She wove subtle tension into the collection with semi-sheer fabrics and leotards folded at the neck in couture inspired shapes.

The new campaign continues this conversation between elegance and provocation. Burton presents menswear that honors the legacy of the house while inviting a modern attitude. The imagery feels confident and intimate, a study in personality and presence that signals the next chapter of Givenchy under her direction.
