Pop Culture Portaits von Künstler Alvaro Tapia Hidalgo
Extremely colorful and unique pop culture portraits by artist Alvaro Tapia Hidalgo. I love the expressions and highlighted facial features he chooses to feature, pretty much making their iconic features stand out even more. Like a caricature of color. Quelle:

Mixed Media Portraits von Bernhard Handick
A perfect mixture of pop culture, fashion photography, and mixed media. The pieces are manipulated by combining other photographs and painting over them to create and illusive sometimes surreal feeling. The use of familiar faces we know from media are seen differently when taken this creative approach. Quelle:

Sufjan Stevens, “Year of the Tiger”
Not a new song but a new official video for a song. Year of the Tiger was released back in 2001 but recently has been brought back to life by director and animator Geoffrey Hoskinson. The video has colorful animations of abstract lions slowly coming closer staring right at you, eventually multiplying and making a final creation. It’s all very hypnotizing. I like the paper like feeling the animation had. Hör zu:

Geometrical Portraits by Boris Draschoff
“These are the central concepts of my artistic essence. The transformation of motives therefore is a clearing of reality through optical reduction and refraction of contents. In this way it allows each observer an exempt view on the essential marrow. In this connection my process follows strictly the etymological translation of the word kaleidoscope, which has its roots in the greek language and means ‘to see beautiful forms’.” -Boris Draschoff, Berlin, Deutschland borisdraschoff.com

Thom Browne Menswear S / S 2015 Marionettensoldaten
An extremely avant-garde show and collection. So far there haven’t been too many this season so it’s a nice change from the continues trends within other collections. This show featured doll like models with clear masks on. The clothing seemed padded and the patterns were continuously mixed and matched. The silhouette where ever changing and architectural which you usually don’t see in a menswear collection. Wearable? ehhhh… well if you can why not right? Quelle:

Gender Swapped Disney Characters by Maby-Chan
Well thought out and highly detailed illustrations by artist Maby-Chan depicting popular Disney characters as the opposite gender. These are so fun to look at, I would be interesting seeing these movies play out in the genders depicted here. The Gentlemen: The Ladies: Quelle:

Paradise Lost, von Nick Knight fotografiert
Roses being shot in the head. Striking and oddly wrong feeling. Even though we always pick roses, make retarded little crowns and smash them into books. Something about shooting them with a gun gives them little souls. I guess we are only use to humans and animals with this outcome.
Illustrations by Mojo Wang, Sex, Pain and Secrets
Surreal Illustrations by Mojo Wang of China. Each one of these pieces has a severe personal narrative that can be perceived different ways. An ongoing theme of pain, sex and secrets. They are beautiful and eccentric. Quelle:
