M.I.A. and H&M team up for a World Recycle Week project which encourages shoppers to bring in their unwanted to clothing for recycling purposes. The song “Rewear It” was specifically for the campaign. Although H&M has been severely criticized for their fast fashion practices (cheap clothes that gets thrown out quickly working against recycling) and outsourced factory use. UK Bans Gucci Campaign Due to “Unhealthily Thin” Model
UK’s Advertising Standards Authority has banned Gucci’s Cruise 2016 campaign due to featuring a an “unhealthily thin” and “gaunt” model. The image in question was taken from a video still that appeared on thetimes.co.uk and is now banned from being used for further advertising. The ASA report states: “Her pose elongated her torso and accentuated her waist so that it appeared to be very small.
