In the words of Miranda Priestly “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking” It’s a cliché we know. But when things are naturally beautiful why not roll with it? The thing that can offset the cheesiness of a spring floral would to switch some things up. So why not the gender. Men don’t have as many options as woman do when it comes to different articles of clothing they can wear, so they have to rely greatly on fit and pattern. A pattern for men that has been seemingly untouched would be floral. Here are a few photographs featuring men in colorful floral based outfits. source:

Black Leather Looks
Black leather has always carried a certain emotional weight. It does not exist quietly. Even in its simplest form, it signals intent. Power, protection, rebellion, restraint. When styled with care, leather moves beyond cliché and into something far more compelling. Sleek, haunting, and undeniably stylish.

Menswear Campaign Zara S/S 2014
ZARA’s Spring Summer 2014 menswear campaign leaned into clarity rather than noise, presenting a vision of modern dressing shaped by sharp tailoring and historical reference. The influence of the 1960s was present throughout, but it arrived quietly, translated through silhouette rather than costume.

STEPHEN JAMES FOR TAKESHY KUROSAWA FW13
Stephen James for Takeshy Kurosawa Fall Winter 2013 The Takeshy Kurosawa Fall Winter 2013 collection finds its strength in tension. Clean but not minimal. Dark but not theatrical. When modeled by Stephen James, the clothes take on an added psychological weight, transforming the collection from a presentation of garments into a study of presence. Kurosawa has long been interested in the space where tailoring meets rebellion, and this season reflects that balance with restraint. The silhouettes are sharp yet lived-in, structured without feeling rigid. There is an undercurrent of aggression softened by control, a quality that aligns naturally with Stephen James’s visual intensity. His heavily tattooed body contrasts with the…

COMME DES GARÇONS HOMME PLUS AW14
A very dark feel to this show, the haunting music followed by the distinctively slow pace of the models set the stage for a dramatic display. It seems the models were each wearing glossy gas masks hiding their identity, but upon further inspection you notice it is black hair pulled over their faces twisted down to a swirling black rope. Things that stood out most would be the strategically placed holes on the black formal wear that flowed through the whole show. The fits where loose and flowing as they glided across the room. source:

Look closer, and a deliberate tension begins to emerge. This is not ease for ease’s sake. It is controlled imbalance, styled to appear almost accidental.

VERSACE AUTUM/WINTER 2014| MILAN FASHION WEEK
With a late 70’s early 80’s rebel feel, the show begins with the famous silk baroque Versace print with a western cowboy twist. Deep jewel tones and dark neutrals filled the runway with endless amounts of various textures, with the most notable being a slick sheen, whether being in the full red leather cowboy outfit or the silk shirts and accessories. This very cheeky collection definitely had a huge nod to gay culture, including coded handkerchiefs, jeweled crotches, leather chaps and over embellishments. “It was an expression of freedom. I think it’s really important today with what’s going on in the world with civil rights and love.” – Donatella…
