The Risks of the Bleached Brow

Become high fashion? Bleach your eyebrows. Well, before you reach for the peroxide, you may want to think twice. Bleaching your eyebrows can be a risky endeavor. For starters, it’s important to follow the instructions on the box to the letter. If you leave the bleach on for too long, you may end up with eyebrows that are almost non-existent. Where in you could have just shaved them off for the same look with no chemicals. On the other hand, if you don’t leave it on long enough, you may end up with patchy, uneven brows that resemble a splotchy battlefield. But the real danger of bleaching your eyebrows is…

The High Bun REPLACED With The HIGH PONY!

How exciting. Buns are great and all but recently they have become more bagel like and it kind of seems bad for your posture. Yes, we will still rock the top knot/high bun but it’s time for a new normal to keep things a little fresh. That new normal would be the high pony! Sort of how the high bun was associated with old ladies, ballerinas and librarians the High Pony pulls references from the complete other direction, like cheerleaders, little girls and athletes. (tennis grunt) The high pony is for men and women (and everything in between) just like the man bun apocalypse, hair has no specific gender role.…

The last few seasons in fashion it’s been all about the sensible bright sneaker, from high fashion designers Chanel and Burberry Prorsum pairing sporty shoes with not so sporty looks in both mens and womenswear collections. A new shoe trend that has been bubbling up and taking over the fashion world is the sleek chic Cigarette Shoe, also known as loafers. perSUEDE! A Trend to Stay

Something that’s been trending on the runways and the whole fashion scene in general would be the use of a classic that has recently made a comeback. SUEDE! It will always have a vintage 70’s feel with a more effortless cool feeling to contrast with anything else in your wardrobe. What I like about this trend is that it’s something so tangible to everyone. I’ve found some amazing suede pieces by simply thrifting. So keep your eyes peeled. Suede is a classic and I feel as if it’s here to stay, something like denim. Here are some dope suede options:

    Ice Bucket Challenge Haters

I was a bit of a skeptic with the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge trend at first, but then I saw Britney Spears (GODney Spears) take part in the challenge and I was sold. Someone throw ice water on me while I whisper and breath heavily like my gorl Britney. On a more serious note, I honestly have done no research on the challenge, where it originated etc. I don’t intend to either. Topics of charity just aren’t interesting. This is just an observation of the recent flood in social media concerning the topic. Just because Charity is boring doesn’t mean it’s bad. I understand. I donate when a cashier asks…

    S/S15 Menswear Trends

Baggy: Whether it’s the pants, shirts, or outerwear, almost every collection seemed oversized. This didn’t mean one baggy piece and the rest fitted. If it was baggy so was the whole outfit making everything seem more relaxed and cool. Even better if your weight tends to fluctuate I guess.   Short Loose Shorts: Above knee length but wide. Ideal loungewear and interchangeable with endless options.   Sneakers: A trend that has followed through from last season is the sneakers. ( thanks Karl) Colorful or solid we saw them all over the mens runways. Mixed with both formal wear and more casual looks. Futuristic Jesus Sandals: Clogish birkenstocks and sandals made…

Did someone throw paint on your bag?! No, Painted Accesories.

Remember Kim Kardashians painted Birkin? I do. It seems rediculs at first but the more you think about it it’s just another way of mixing art and fashion. We’ve always seen an abundance of clothing being painted, and in a ever evolving industry we are looking for new ways to say the same thing. Below are bags from Burberry Prorsum Fall/Winter 2014 Details, LFW. who incorporate this painted accessory trend. Do you find this trend ridiculous or uniquely stylish?

    White Tattoos

Faint and ghost-like white ink tattoos have become more popular recently. Some tend to look like intricate burn marks or scars sculpted onto the body. Is it a passing fad like tribal tattoos on biceps or butterfly tramp stamps? Only time will tell.  Let’s check back in on this in 10 years. source:

    Men in Flowers, Floral Menswear

In the words of Miranda Priestly “Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking” It’s a cliché we know. But when things are naturally beautiful why not roll with it? The thing that can offset the cheesiness of a spring floral would to switch some things up. So why not the gender. Men don’t have as many options as woman do when it comes to different articles of clothing they can wear, so they have to rely greatly on fit and pattern. A pattern for men that has been seemingly untouched would be floral. Here are a few photographs featuring men in colorful floral based outfits. source:
