Telfar is giving its Baby Bag Charm another styling moment, this time clipping the tiny bag onto jeans, belt loops, pockets, and full-size Telfar bags.
The $78 charm launched online July 17 in 11 colors. Made from vegan leather, it measures about four by three inches and has a zipper, two card slots, and a carabiner strap. The carabiner is really the point here. Instead of treating it like a tiny handbag, Telfar is styling it more like a piece of hardware you can hang wherever you want.
The Baby Bag Charm was never exactly about carrying your essentials. It takes the recognizable shape of the Shopping Bag and shrinks it down into something you can clip onto an outfit.
That also makes this less of a new launch than a new way of selling the same thing. When it dropped in July, the focus was on accessibility. There was no preorder or Bag Security Program, just a straightforward online release.
Now Telfar is selling the styling. The bag goes on your shoulder. The baby bag goes on your belt loop. And honestly, that might be the whole appeal.
